Senior Economics/Budget ProjectThis project meets the objectives established by the Virginia Board of Education as required by Senate Bill 950 passed in 2005 by the Virginia General Assembly. The objectives promote economic and financial literacy among Virginia students. For this project the new objectives are correlated to the current Virginia Standards of Learning for Virginia and United States Government. *THIS PROJECT MUST BE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED IN ORDER TO GRADUATE!* Objective The Senior Economics/Budget Project is designed to assist students in considering their financial future. The project consists of various “real world” situations/decisions one will be faced with once entering the workforce. The student will create a budget that demonstrates what they feel is the best use of their income. Many of the activities require the student to research information and some even require them to go into various institutions to obtain applications. You are required to show tangible evidence of your research! This may include online sources, newspaper clippings, bill receipts, apartment applications, utility estimates, etc.WARNING: Do not use your social security number on any forms/applications!

BASIC FORMAT REQUIREMENTS: See the attached GRADING RUBRIC for details:
All summaries MUST be typed, double-spaced, 12 point Times New Roman font
Each activity in the project is to be completed on a separate sheet of paper and then put into a 3 ring notebook, organized by chapter. DO NOT put each sheet in a plastic sleeve. Verification of all claims must be printed out – no just listing a website, and the specific information you are citing from that page must be highlighted.
There should be a Title Page that lists the student’s name, name of school, subject, class period, school year, and date turned in to your government teacher.
After the Title Page, a Table of Contents Page should be included with each page numbered and corresponding to the table of contents page
